Boosting engineering and supply chain capabilities to drive sustainable e-mobility
Jakarta, Indonesia, (20/11), 2024 – Global technology solutions provider Arrow Electronics has announced its partnership with SAVART Motors, a leading Indonesian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer. This collaboration supports SAVART Motors in designing and producing high-quality, safe, and affordable electric scooters. The first batch of SAVART scooters is expected to hit the streets by Q2 2025.
Founded in 2018, SAVART Motors is one of Indonesia’s few EV brands with in-house R&D capabilities. Its Mojokerto facility boasts advanced prototyping hardware, software, and a dedicated manufacturing unit. This homegrown brand develops electric scooters designed for local road conditions and riding preferences.
Indonesia is the world’s third-largest motorcycle market, with nearly 130 million motorcycles on the road. These vehicles contribute significantly to air pollution and climate change. To combat this, Indonesia has set an ambitious target of 13 million electric two-wheelers by 2030, aiming to reduce emissions and promote sustainable commuting.
Empowering homegrown EV entrepreneurs to drive electrification and e-mobility
SAVART Motors meticulously designs their electric scooters from the ground up, seamlessly integrating design aesthetics and performance to suit road conditions, riding culture, and local market expectations. Boosting design for manufacturability capabilities
Arrow Electronics plays a pivotal role in strengthening SAVART Motors’ R&D and manufacturing capabilities. The collaboration provides SAVART with advanced technologies such as smart IoT modules, microprocessors, and automotive-grade silicon carbide MOSFETs.
